Duct Tape Body form

Welcome everyone to this weeks GeekGetup. This week was fun because I got to wrap Kiersty in duct tape. That's right, we made a dress form for Kiersty. Some details will be included in this weeks post, but if you want to see how it is done, then go to my YouTube channel HERE to see the video.

A home made body form can be made in a number of different ways. I wrapped Kiersty in plastic wrap before covering her in the duct tape. The plastic wrap was to keep it off of her clothes. You can use paper towels or old clothes instead of plastic wrap if you don't mind losing the clothes.

After you cut it off, tape it back together and stuff it. I ended up using quilt batting torn into small bits for easier stuffing. Pillow stuffing or any other kind works as well. You can get it here or see if a nearby craft store has any. Kiersty's was made out of blue duct tape. You can get it almost anywhere, but here on Amazon you get a wide variety of colors and designs. Kiersty says to be prepared to stand still for at least 30 minutes as you do this.

After it is all stuffed and fitted, cover up the arm holes and the bottom. You can use cardboard or just close it off with tape. We don't have a stand yet, but we'll look for an old lamp post that we can put it on.

This is the final product. As I said before, you can see the entire process on my YouTube channel here. Thanks for joining this week here at GeekGetup.
